1-30-12; A Mouse and a Bird

My dream took place in my Aunt Wendy's house last night. I found a small white mouse while I was playing there with my cousin Hillary and I decided I wanted to keep it. It was the cutest most lovable mouse you have ever seen. It crawled all around on my hand and up my sleeve. When it was scared, it would hide in the cuff of my shirt from people and nibble on my hair tie. This little mouse was the best companion! I loved him so much and I feared that I would accidentally drop him in the house. My Uncle Mike and Aunt Wendy decided I could use one of their bird cages as a house for him. I picked a pretty, white cage to keep him in and lined it with toys. I went to put my pet in the cage but all of a sudden a cocktail appeared and I couldn't put my mouse in the cage for fear of him getting eaten. So instead, I sought out a fish tank. I searched the house high and low for a fish tank so I could keep my pet mouse in it. When I couldn't find one, I began getting really upset and I started to cry. My mouse was so in tune with my emotions that he got really sad and started squirming around. I accidentally dropped him on the wood floor :( When I tried to pick him up to make sure he was ok, my mouse had turned into a worm and it was mushed. It was a very sad ending to such a happy dream.

1-29-12; A Brown and White Puppy

Last night I had a dream that my roommate, Emily Nuss the MA, was hiding a tiny brown and white puppy in our dorm room. It was the cutest, more playful puppy I have ever soon. I took him outside to go potty and we played in a green meadow. When I took him back inside, I had to hide him in Emily's room behind a blue chair.

I also had a dream that I was in a mall at the food court when suddenly I realized it was 2:00pm and I was late for work. I rushed to gather my things and get to the library but somehow I was in a completely different state. I knew I would never make it back to work in time, so I called my boss and told her that my alarm didn't go off and I overslept. Back at the food court, my friend Chloe shows up suddenly realizes that she too has to work at Subway tomorrow morning. We frantically try to find someone to cover her shift because we are 22 hours away.

Then all of a sudden I am ice skating on a very small ice rink inside of my bedroom. I do not even know how to ice skate, yet I was doing all of these fancy slides and stops. My classmate Carlee was there and she was begging me to travel to New Orleans with her to go ice skating. I told her that we could just ice skate here, but she insisted that we had to go to New Orleans to get in an arial photograph they would be taking. The drive was 22 hours away and it was 7:00pm. The picture was suppossed to be taken at 10:00am. I told her that we would never make it but she contiually insisted.
I think I got annoyed so I left the dream

Next, I was playing football back on my old middle school Mio Dolphins team. We were in the super bowl game against the Amish, who had some really huge corn fed boys. We were down by one touchdown when all of a sudden they stopped the game because there was a fumble and the refs were not sure who's ball it was. After much deliberation, they decided to ask if any of the players could be honest. One of my old classmates and teammates, Garret Price, stood up and truthfully claimed that the ball belonged to us. The game continued and I intercepted a pass and scored a touchdown. While going for the two point conversion, I missed the pitch and got crushed into the sidelines. I remember being partially awake and my stomach hurting really bad. I think we won the game.

1-28-12; Mormonism and the truth it holds

For my psychology class I must complete a personal project. My project while consist of this blog, and this blog consists of my dreams.

I started tracking my dreams last week, but this is the first substantial one that I can piece together for a story. I end every night before bed by saying my prayers. This particular prayer included a plead with God to give me a loud and clear sign about whether or not the Book of Mormon is true. I have been reading the Book of Mormon and investigating the church since November.

My dream took place at Smith Lake and I was standing at the top of a large wooden platform with four other people. The main character in this dream was me, yet she didn't look like me. I was actually watching her from above (maybe I was in Heaven). There was an ensign hanging from the wooden platform (which has religious meaning, I later found out). Below me, there were four or five groups/tribes of people. One group was the Nephites, another was the Lamanites, a third was the Zoramites and a fourth was the Gentiles. As the address was about to begin, I suddenly saw myself falling off of the large wooden platform, surely plummeting to my death.

About three seconds before I hit the ground, I was uplifted by a bright beam of golden sunlight. I began to revolve in the air with my chest puffed out as I rose above the tribes of people. Jesus' voice spoke through me and at that time, a few members from each group began to ascend into the sunlight above the ground as well.

When I told my roommate (a fellow Mormon) about my dream, she insisted that I should tell the Elders (missionaries). I did, and it turns out that my dream is a scripture passage from 2nd Nephi.
One of the Sister missionaries had asked the Elders about that specific passage just a few days earlier and so the Elders just happened to be studying this passage when I confronted them about my dream. I have never read nor heard of this scripture, yet I had an almost exact account of what happened in my dream. The Elders are convinced that this was my answer from God about the truth of the Book of Mormon. My baptism is set for Feb. 12
